Food is essential for survival by providing macro and micronutrients to ensure that our bodies can function optimally. Foods have a life-giving function, but it is also there to nourish us by giving us feelings of happiness, satisfaction, and enjoyment.

As we grow up diet culture confuses the message of healthy eating and we forget how to nourish our bodies. Instead, we follow diet trends such as eat less, eat clean, or avoid these foods. We forget how to honor our hunger and respect our fullness. Feeling pleasure and satisfaction from a meal is overlooked. Exercise becomes more about burning calories and changing our body’s shape as opposed to making us feel good and healthy.  We don’t know how to honor our feelings without using food. We develop unachievable body image goals because of what society thinks our bodies should look like. We ultimately forget how to nourish our bodies.
